GM Recognizes Summit Polymers, Inc. for Performance, Quality and Innovation. This is the 4th year in a row Summit Polymers has received GM’s Supplier of the Year Award

April, 2018 - Summit Polymers was named a GM Supplier of the Year by General Motors during its 26th annual Supplier of the Year awards ceremony held Friday, April 20th in Orlando, Florida.

GM recognized 132 of its best suppliers from 17 countries who have consistently exceeded GM’s expectations, created outstanding value, or brought new innovations to the company. The announcement represented the most suppliers GM has recognized since debuting the Supplier of the Year event in 1992. This is the 4th time Summit Polymers has received the award.

“This is an opportunity for General Motors to honor those suppliers who are truly the best of the best” said Steve Kiefer, GM Senior Vice President, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. “The automotive industry is transforming at an incredible rate. The relationships we have with our supply base means everything when it comes to delivering a strong vehicle lineup today and the cutting-edge vehicles and mobility services of tomorrow.”

GM’s Supplier of the Year award is reserved to suppliers who distinguish themselves by meeting performance metrics for quality, execution, innovation and total enterprise cost.

Summit Polymers is certified a Women Enterprise Business

December, 2017 - Summit Polymers, Inc. is proud to announce it has received its certification from the WBENC (The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) and is now officially certified a Women Enterprise Business.

WBENC’s national standard of certification is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and on site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman.

  • Fiat Chrysler 2013 Supplier of the Year Finalist Emerging Supplier

    June 5, 2013 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Chrysler Group LLC honored its top-performing suppliers during the Company’s 2013 Annual Strategy Meeting and Supplier Awards Ceremony held today at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

    “Chrysler Group suppliers need to be nimble, innovative and, above all else, focused on the quality of the parts and services they are providing us,” said Kunselman. “The suppliers we are honoring today have proven themselves to be motivated, capable and excited to be on the Chrysler team. They are critical to our success in delivering our customers the best cars and trucks in the world.”

  • Ford Honors 2012 World Excellence Winners

    May 2013 – Ford Motor Company hosted its 15th annual World Excellence Awards ceremony to celebrate its top-performing global suppliers in 2012.

    Summit Polymers was named a Gold Award Winner by Tony Brown, Group Vice President, Global Purchasing, during the ceremony. The Gold Award is awarded to the top 5 percent of qualifying suppliers who demonstrated superior quality, delivery and cost performance.

    Tony Brown congratulated the award winners saying, “Congratulations to the 2012 World Excellence Award winners. You are a valued member of the ONE Ford Team and we thank you for helping Ford Go Further. Your unyielding commitment to the pursuit of excellence for technology, quality and cost efficiency helps us to deliver the best vehicles in the world to our customers.   • 7th International Suppliers Fair

    Summit Polymers participated as an exhibitor in the 7th International Suppliers Fair (IZB) from October 10th-12th, 2012. The IZB is the leading European trade fair for the automotive supplier industry and is held bi-annually in Wolfsburg Germany. The event featured 776 exhibitors from 28 different nations and recorded a total of 49,000 visitors. Summit displayed several products from our extensive portfolio, everything from Air Outlets to Full Console Assemblies. The components on display featured a wide variety of Summit's manufacturing capabilities such as painting, pad printing, hot stamping, applique molding, high gloss mold-in-color as well as lean assembly. The event also provided a great opportunity for Summit to show our full system product development capabilities to current current and prospective customers.

  • Ford honors Global Suppliers for strong performance in 2010

    Ford’s supplier partners are recognized for achieving the highest level of excellence in quality, cost and delivery.

    Ford Motor Company recognized its 2010 top performing global suppliers with the World Excellence Awards, the company’s highest recognition for its suppliers across the globe.

    The World Excellence Awards honor suppliers that have aligned themselves with the values and operating practices of Ford while reaching the highest quality, technology, cost and delivery standards.

  • Summit Expansion

    Summit has announced significant expansion plans in China and Mexico to meet expected business growth and to support the global platform strategies of its’ key OE customers.

    A new facility opened in Silao Mexico in 1Q of 2012.  This plant includes a full range of injection molding presses (75 ton to 1500 ton) and full decorating and assembly capabilities.  This plant is ideally located to serve the growth of Summit’s automotive OE customers in central Mexico, as well as support for global platform programs.

    Summit has begun expansion of its’ manufacturing facility in Nanjing, China which will essentially double the capacity of the plant.  The plant will have a broad range of injection molding presses (50 ton to 600 ton) and will continue to specialize in high value added, labor intensive kinetic products.  Logistic services are in place to support multiple region global platform programs.
